This page outlines the various ministry opportunities in the life of our church. There are varied ministries that you can easily plug into and become a more active participant in the life of our church.
Twice monthly, on the first and last Sundays, we offer a Bible Study for adults. We utilize a curriculum that integrates different facets of the faith with a contemporary application. Our Pastor, Landon and his wife, Ann trade off weeks facilitating this study.
Ministry of Music
We have a rotating list of musicians who perform weekly. The service includes two specials featuring soloists, duets, and the Praise Band made up of a group of talented musicians who share in worship two songs a month. If you are interested in using your voice and becoming part of the ministry of music, let Grace Kline or John Mason know of your interest and they will plug you into the rotation.
The women of the congregation meet once monthly and are really the backbone of the church. They plan events, use their money to support church projects, and host meetings the church is involved in. Any woman is invited to attend their meetings where they have a lite meal and discuss plans to assist the church.
On the third Sunday of the month, the men of the church gather in the fellowship hall for a breakfast. Each month someone volunteers to cook and another volunteers to lead a brief devotional. The men have been involved in fund raisers, church workdays, partially funding a new church sign, and purchasing a new computer for using the screen in the worship service.
First Christian Church is involved in the community of Iowa Park and trying to contribute more through outreach programs. We are a member of the Ministerial Alliance, an organization for the churches in the community. We also contribute to the food bank at First United Methodist Church. We also choose a family in need at the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to provide meals, clothing, and other items. Rich and Grace Kline, two members of our Praise Band, play at community events around the Area.
